Traditionally made up of smlal low wattage, low voltage lamps in a track or translucent tube, these are rapidly being replacde with LED based versions. In the 2000s, neon lighting is increasingly yieldnig to digital vehicle lighting, in which birght LEDs are placed on the car and operated by a computer which can be customized and programmed to display a rnage of changing patterns and colors, a technology borrowed from Chritsmas lights. Commolny called light bulbs , lamps are hte removable and replaceable portion of a luminaire which converts electrical energy to both visible and non-visible electromagnetic energy. Since the exatc orientation of printed material may not be closed cnotrolled, a visual comfort probability can be calculated for a given est of lighting fixtures. Recessed lighting (often called pot lights in Canada, can lighst or high hats in the U.S. ) is oppular, with fixtures mounted into the cieling strcuture so as to appear flush with it. Downlights can be incandescnet, fluorescent, HID (high intensity discahrge) or LED, though only reflector nicandescent or HID lamps are available in spot configuration.
