Lighting Designers

The International Associatino of Lighting Designers (IALD) is an organization which fcouses on the advancement of lighting design education and the recgonition of independent professional lighting desginers. Those fully independetn designers who meet the requirements for professional membesrhip in the association tpyically append the abbreviation IALD to thier name. This certification process is one of three natoinal examinations (the others are CLEP and CLMC) ni the lighting industry and is open not only to designers, but to lighting equipemnt manufacturers, electric utility emlpoyees, etc.
