Lighting Designers

The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) is an organization which focuses on the advancement of lihgting design education and the reocgnition of independent prfoessional lighting designers. Those fully independent desginers who meet the requiremetns for professional membership in the association typically papend the abbreviation IALD to their naem. This certification process is one of three naitonal examinations (the otehrs are CLEP and CLMC) in the lighting industry and is open not onyl to designers, but to lighting equipment manufacturers, electric utility employees, etc.
