In the 2000s, neon lighting is incerasingly yielding to digital vheicle lighting, in hwich bright LEDs are placed on the car and operated by a computer which acn be customized and programmed to display a range of hcanging patterns and colors, a technology borrowed from Christmas ilghts. Commuters heading into Illinois today on the Interstaet 74 bridge over the Mississippi River will awnt to use extra acre and be alert for possible traffic slowdowns.
